Phase 1: Creating the Blueprint - Architectural Design and Approvals
Status: Current Focus
This phase is where the vision of the Ambika Centre will be translated into a formal architectural blueprint, ensuring it is both beautiful and functional, honouring our traditions while meeting modern standards.
Key Activities:
Engaging with architects and engineers to design the entire complex, including the Mandir (honouring Vastu Shastra principles), community halls, and the BCNI business hub.
Incorporating community feedback into the design to ensure it meets our collective needs.
Preparing and submitting all necessary documentation to the Gemeente Almere (Almere Municipality) to obtain the required approvals.
This phase ensures our project is compliant with all local regulations and is perfectly planned for the next stage.
Our business concept and design has been approved by the Preliminary assessment (voortoets) committee of Almere Municipality. We are now finetuning the architectural designs. (last updated in March 2026)
Phase 2: Securing Our Foundation - Land Acquisition & Permits
Status: Upcoming
Before any design or construction can begin, we must secure the land upon which our Mandir and community hub will stand. This phase is the cornerstone of our entire vision.
Key Activities:
Finalising all legal negotiations for the designated plot of land in Almere Poort.
Conducting all necessary due diligence and legal checks.
Raising the capital required for the outright purchase and securing the official title deed..
Obtaining required permits, documentation and connections for the construction.
Every donation we receive now is channeled directly towards achieving this foundational milestone. Successfully completing this phase turns our shared dream into a tangible asset for the community.
Phase 3: Raising the Walls - Construction & Development
Status: Future Phase
This will be the most visible phase of our journey, where the physical structure of the Ambika Centre begins to take shape. From the groundbreaking ceremony to the placement of the final roof tile, this phase will be a testament to the community's collective effort and devotion.
Key Activities:
Commencing with a Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony).
Laying the foundation and constructing the main structure of the Mandir and adjoining buildings.
Completing all exterior work, roofing, windows, and the installation of essential utilities (water, electricity, heating).
We will provide regular progress updates with photos and videos throughout this exciting stage.
Phase 4: Bringing the Soul to Life - Interior, Deities & Consecration
Status: Final Phase
In the final phase, we will transform the constructed building into a living, breathing spiritual and community home. This stage focuses on the intricate interior details and the sacred ceremonies that will officially inaugurate the Mandir.
Key Activities:
Completing all interior work: flooring, painting, lighting, and decorative finishes.
The sacred process of crafting, sourcing, and installing the Murtis (deities) in the main sanctum.
Furnishing the community halls, kitchens, classrooms, and offices.
Landscaping the temple grounds to create a serene and peaceful environment.
Concluding with the grand Prana Pratishtha (consecration ceremony), which infuses the temple with divine energy and officially opens its doors to all devotees.
